Zorzettig – fighting back against Covid-19
Zorzettig is a well-known winery in Friuli. In these dark days of Coronavirus lockdown, it’s taking positive and practical steps to fight Covid-19. They are supporting the Hospital of Udine with the release of a limited-edition wine called Andrà Tutto Bene, which means Everything will be Alright. That phrase is on the label in eight different languages. That represents the many countries affected, and also the number eight is a lucky number in Chinese. It’s also written in a circular style, describing a hug we can’t share right now. The label demonstrates that a lot of thought has gone into this initiative.
The Zorzettig family has released this wine as a fund-raising project to support the intensive care unit of Ospedale Universitario Santa Maria della Misericordia in Udine, which is fighting at the forefront of the Covid-19 emergency.
The wine is from Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, the red signature grape of Friuli. It’s especially apt because this variety is well-known for its resilience and high quality.
Proceeds from sales will buy necessary and much-needed hospital equipment.
Annalisa Zorzettig explains
“Andrà Tutto Bene is a good wish for the future that needs translating into practical action right now. We love our land and our community, and we asked ourselves how we could help. So we came up with the idea of a limited edition. We love the idea that families will buy this bottle to share it with beloved ones seated around the same table. In the future, this will be a reminder of a challenging time we were able to overcome. And a reminder of a moment which has taught us, once more, how precious are little joys and beloved ones”.
A great and inspirational initiative, bravo!
UK wine lovers will soon be able to buy this wine at €35 from Tannico.

Zorzettig has 115 hectares of vineyards and makes 800,000 bottles per year. It’s a winery in the Colli Orientali area of Friuli located near Cividale del Friuli, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. That’s up near the Italian border with Slovenia. In addition, the winery undertakes research projects with Udine university into sustainability and biodiversity.
Have I tried this wine yet? Of course not, but Zorzettig make an extensive range of excellent wines, and I’ve no doubt this one will be up there with those that comprise their impeccable Myò range. So I’ll be putting in an order.
Meanwhile, stay safe.
